If you have just suffered a breakup and the feeling of despair and sadness have overcome you, it's truly one of the toughest experiences to come your way. Often there are many reasons to want a second chance and getting your ex boyfriend back, but you need to approach the situation with care. Here's what to look out for.

People are different and relationships are in a way different, but at the same time they are also not really that different... You see, the fundamental building blocks and the psychological aspects of a loving relationship are really the same and it's crucial to get understanding for those before anything else can happen. If you follow the right plan and understand why you are doing things in a certain way, you will be acting from a much better position.

1) Whatever your intuition tells you to do in this moment avoid being seen by your ex boyfriend as needy or desperate woman. There is a kind of pressure that comes from desperate and needy behavior that will make him run as if his behind was set on fire... No really... a man will not take a woman back, because he feels sorry for her... He will take her back because he respects her and is attracted.

So, don't call him excessively, don't beg him to stay, don't reason with him and don't  tell him you can't live without him. Take the pressure of his shoulders and keep your dignity and you will win his respect and curiosity.

2) Contrary to your instinctive desires, the second important move to take on the way to getting your ex boyfriend back is to stop all contact with him for several weeks. One month is the recommended time for a break and although it will not be easy for you at times, he will begin to miss you and wonder how you are doing. Here's psychology at play.

Use the time to evaluate the relationship and to get your emotions under control, because this will help you a great deal.

If at times you need to talk to somebody about the problems, call few good friends and get together with them, but don't call your ex. It's a bad idea to show your ex that you are experiencing a moment of weakness.

3) That's not an easy one, but it's an important one in the chain of steps to take. Without knowing exactly which part of the engine is broken, you can't repair it even with the best tools. Your breakup happened for a reason and it's critical to know what it was. If your ex boyfriend left you, chances are there were issues on your part, so don't expect him to change all of a sudden.

The moment you have waited for one month in order to work on yourself and work out your plan of action, the time has now arrived to get in touch with your ex again and to initiate a casual getting-together-for-a-quick-coffee meeting.

Remember, you just want to test the grounds here and to show that you have picked yourself up in the last few weeks. This is not the time to discuss your relationship... not yet. Give as a reason for the meeting some positive recent development in your life that you just want to tell him about and generally show strength and good will. If you follow your plan as your guide, you'll avoid falling back into the all-so-damaging "panic-mode" and needy talk.

Here's where the process of getting your ex boyfriend back begins. There is some more to the overall plan... but here's how to start on the "right foot" and get a great start (independent of your particular situation).

why is all of the breakup advice on the internet the same? It's as if you're all reading from a manual and it seems quite cliche.
